Founder and Creative Director | Wood Fired Games | 2018 – Present
I created Wood Fired Games to build lovingly hand-crafted worlds where players can live out their own stories on their own terms. I am supporting development by partnering with industry leaders to build new IP and wholly unique experiences on a contract basis.
Design Director | Bad Robot Games | 2018-2019
I was contracted to develop several pitch concepts into fully playable prototypes. I worked with their Creative Director to devise gameplay mechanics and then I implemented everything myself in Unity using art assets from the Unity Asset Store.
Design Director | Sparkypants Studios | 2011 – 2018
As one of the first employees, I helped to grow the studio from a three-person operation to a peak of 40 full-time developers supported by over two dozen external contractors. I lead the creative vision, IP creation, and game design for our RTS-inspired multiplayer-focused strategy game Dropzone. I’ve also created numerous game prototypes, pitched concepts to publishers, and provided creative contracting and consulting services for several high-profile clients.
Lead Designer, Alternative Platforms | 38 Studios | 2009 – 2011
Spearheaded an initiative to create a mobile gaming division and acted as a solo developer to create a multiplayer turn-based Rise of Nations inspired game for iOS.
Senior Programmer | Big Huge Games | 2003 – 2009
Served as a gameplay, ui, and multiplayer programmer on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Catan for XBLA, Rise of Legends, Rise of Nations, and several unreleased projects. I worked both as a department of one designing and building out key game components as well as a team lead managing several junior programmers.
